She Use To Be So Sweet
“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.”-Dr. Seuss

The Board of Trustees & National Council of Officers
of Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc

invite you to the
Ray of Hope Walk to End Violence Against Women
Proceeds are going to NOW (National Organization for Women)

On October 28th 2012, the historic uptown Riverside Park in New York will play host to hundreds of people and sponsors gathered in solidarity for a day of celebration and education for the Ray of Hope Walk (ROHW) to End Violence against Women. The ROHW 5k aims to raise awareness of a global epidemic affecting the lives of women, children, and families. Every 15 seconds a woman is physically assaulted by an intimate partner. In the United States, over 22 million women have been victims of sexual assault in their lifetime. The ROHW will shed light on the various forms of violence against women and girls, but also raise funds to assist support organizations.
The walk will feature various events designed to highlight the different forms of violence against women, inclusive of a kick off ceremony, a rally celebrating the resilience of survivors, and a community fair where participants will learn about the realities of the abuse and violence plaguing homes across the country and the organizations that are committed to ending this global epidemic.
For the 2012 Ray of Hope Walk, OPBSI has selected the National Organization for Women (NOW), the nation’s largest organization of feminist activists, as the walk’s official beneficiary. NOW works to end all forms of violence against women, and to promote equality and justice in our society.
